Our world in retrograde

Listening to some great improv music certainly stirred up some thoughts about the way at times our world is in retrograde.

The song from the artist related to witches who were burnt due to their beliefs.

In parts of the world girls and women are still restricted in what they can do, what they can learn, how they are allowed to ‘show up’. No being able, as the artist in this picture is allowed to do, to stand on a stage and sing, be present, let her craft / art / skill be shared with others. Sometimes in a country where they had the freedom, yet, only in recent years this freedom has been denied.

Our world in retrograde.

The gift of 50% of the population in these countries supressed and denied. Think of the impact that this extra dimension would contribute to make whole, adding more perspective. This vast contribution to the mix is missing.

All too often the contribution of the denied is so valuable. One can only try and imagine how this must feel for those who had the freedom…then it is taken away.

The song related to the witches of old who suffered for their belief and how the girls and women of today now suffer in a different yet equally tormented way.

Why…is our world in retrograde?

The singer made me think and a few thoughts surfaced – these are a few:

  • Where may I be in retrograde?
  • In a more subtle way, are there people I know or work with who have/are being supressed, perhaps not so obviously. And what can I do about it?
  • How can I encourage more contribution?

Perhaps you may care to have a think about the impact of the issues this singer raised.

My best wishes,

Peter
